Hi I need an essay about interviewing one pregnant mom about her child’s development. There are three references files. The first one called example is about the interview essay’s example. The second one is about how to get an A in this essay( rules for how to get an A). The third one is about the questions that needed in this interview. You can make up this interview. And also write down more words to answer the questions and the answer should be very clear, real and accurate. Thank you so much.__utf_8_b_uhjlz25hbmn5ieludgvydmlldybhbmqgvg9kzgxlcibpynnlcnzhdglvbi5wzgy___.pdfexample.pdfrubric.pdfpreganance_.pdfAssignments

Interview of A’s mother!
By L.!
For CD-52, by Dr. Ebesugawa!
De Anza College
!

!
Abstract!
!
This paper examines A.’s developmental and medical history thought the interview of his
mother. For the purpose of this paper I conducted an interview with A.’s mother to acquire a
better understanding of A.’s background. An interview with a parent is also an opportunity for
the caregiver to meet with the child’s family and to learn about them.
!
2
!
For this study, I interviewed A’s mother, who is the mother of two children, A. and his
younger brother. The interview took place at the De Anza Child Development Center, on
Sunday May 14, 2014, and lasted over one hour. I used the interview guide approach, and
took notes during the interview.!
The goal of this study is to learn about the subject’s birth history, and about his family
structure, but also to collect information on his routines and to gather knowledge on the
subject’s developmental and medical history.!
!
!
Pregnancy and Birth!
!
!
!
A.’s mother explained that she experienced typical symptoms of the pregnancy like
nausea, heartburn and fatigue, during the first semester.1 She also spoke about the emotional
changes that occurred during her pregnancy. Those emotional changes are due to the
hormonal change experienced during pregnancy. Overall, the interviewee said she had not
experienced any particular problems during the pregnancy. The interviewee took folic acid
before the pregnancy, “Medical authorities now recommend that women begin taking folic
acid supplements and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables even when they are trying to
become pregnant, because damage from lack of folic acid can take place in the early weeks
of pregnancy, before the woman knows for sure that she is pregnant (de Villarreal et al.,
2006).”2!
!
A’s mother’s birth problems can be categorized as birth complication. The interviewee
explained, “one week before the due date I thought I felt something different, a bit less

movement. I did not know if it was real or just in my head. I talked about it with my father, he
is a gynecologist. He told me to call the doctor. I called and then went to the hospital to be
checked. A.’s pulse was low on the monitor. They kept me the night, they thought they might
induce the labor but they did not. They let me go the next day. When I went home I called my
physician, and she was upset that they did not keep me and induce the labor. That same day,
that evening, I started to have contractions. I think I decided that it had to be at that moment,
because of the pressure. As I was tired and stoned because of the epidural I was not able to
push properly. The doctor used the vacuum.”3 Because of the failure to progress the doctor
had to use the vacuum extraction to ensure A.’s safety. At five minutes, A.’s Apgar score was
a 10. “A score of 7 to 10 means the neonate is in good to excellent condition.”4 After the birth
no particular problem was mentioned. A.’s mother did not experience difficulty nursing.!
!
!
Child and family information!
!
A. lives with his nuclear family, with his two biological parents and his younger bother.
A.’s family principally speaks Hebrew, but also English when with English speakers. A.’s
primary language is Hebrew. His mother said, “He has more vocabulary and masters more
grammar in Hebrew than in English. I think that compared to A.’s classmate, A. is a bit behind
in English, but I am not too worried about it. I think that with school he will catch up.”5 A.’s
cultural heritage is Hebrew as well. His family is attached to the traditions and holidays but
they are not religious.!

!
A.’s temperament is describe by his mother as “Happy and pleasant, mostly calm.”6 His
mother said that A. does not have too much difficulty separating from her. Regarding fear and
anxiety A.’s mother explained that he does not have specific fear, but that he is not the
bravest either. More recently A. has displayed fear of sudden loud noise like the cooking
mixer. She explained that A. will go away from the noise in this kind of situation. The
interviewee also explained that she took A. “to the theater to see Frozen and he was scared
because it was loud, when any frightening scene began.”7 The type of comforting that work
best for A. are “Hugging, holding close, making him laugh, distracting him with some positive
though.”8!
!
A. has a younger brother born in April 12, 2013. When the interviewee was pregnant
with A.’s little brother and told A. about it, she is not sure that A. really understood what it
mean. Overall A.’s reaction was positive. A’s parents emphasized the fact that he will become
a big brother. They will for example ask him what he will like to teach his little brother when he
will be born. A. Would say that he will teach him how to speak or so. Before the birth of A.’s
brother his mother was nervous about A.’s reaction. “I felt that I was betraying A. I new that in
the long term it will be good for A. to have a brother but… I spend lot of time just with A. I was
not sure of how he would react…”9 she said during the interview. A.’s little brother’s birth went
smoothly so that A.’s mother did not stay a long time in the hospital. Two days after the
delivery, A.’s mother was out of the hospital and able to pick him up from the preschool as
usual. A.’s mother also explained that her and her husband had been cautious when they
introduced A. to his brother to help him feel secure. A. Did not display specific signs of

regression except the fact that he started to ask for bottle as he saw his brother with bottle.
He was not particularly jealous of his brother. At the beginning he was a bit brutal with him, so
they taught him to be gentle. A.’s mother said she had been positively surprised by A.’s
reaction. “I hear from some friends that they experience difficult situations, but we don’t. He
had some difficulty sharing his toys, but he learned to express his feelings with words and not
with his hands as he did the majority of the time.”10 She also said that A. is very proud of his
brother and that he often speaks about him.!
!
!
Routines!
!
!
The routines we spoke about during the interview were feeding, diaper/toilet learning,
and napping/sleeping.!
!
Regarding feeding, as said before, A. wanted to drink with a bottle when he saw his
little brother. A. mostly drinks water, when he drinks milk it is whole milk. A’s favorite foods are
meat, chicken, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, cheerios, eggs, and pasta. A.’s favorite foods are
constituted of grains, proteins, vegetable, fruits and dairy. It corresponds to the heath
recommendation of MyPlatekids’ establish by the United States Department of Agriculture.11
In the morning A. has his breakfast around 7-8 a.m., his lunch at 12-1 p.m. He has an
afternoon snack between lunch and dinner, and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. A. does not have any
known allergies. A.’s parent prefer heathy food rather than fats. !
!
A. is out of diapers during the day, but he still wears diaper to sleep. A. is sleeping in a
bed. “He usually goes to sleep around 8:30 p.m. and wakes up usually at 5:30 to 6:30 a.m.
10
A.’s mother, May 14th, 2014. Interview by L. Interview, Cupertino, California.

!
6
Day naps usually once a day for 1 hour after lunch.”12 A four years old needs an average of 11
to 13 hours of sleep a day. A. sleeps usually between 10 and 11 hours so it is a bit low.!
!
Before going to bed A.’s mother reads him a story then A. and one of his parents say
goodnight to the dolls (‘lovies’) and pictures, then his parents say good night with a kiss and
put him to bed. “We read before. A. sleeps good for the most part”13. He used to have some
nightmares but none recently.!
!
!
A. does not watch much television, almost none at all. For computers and other
screens his parent try to limit the amount of time in from of them. “About 2 hours a week,
primarily to watch some cartons. He does not play on the phone or tablet.”14!
!
!
Developmental and medical history!
!
!
!
A, is not taking any medication recently. He has be vaccinated. A. does not have
specific medical history. He does not have any diagnosed disability. He never has been
hospitalized. He had caught some cold and a couple of ear infections. A. has a pediatrician.
He goes to see him when he is sick or for his annual check up. During the check up A. is
measured and has his weight taken. The doctor updates or introduces the new
immunizations. He also has been screened for his hearing and had his eye examinations.!
!
A.’s strengths from his mother are self expression. “He is able to communicate his
needs, feelings, or interests.”15 The interviewee added that “A. also knows how to comfort
himself or to seek others for comfort when needed. He is curious, he likes to speak with

familiar adults.”16 The area that A. is currently working on is primarily English. The interviewee
also would like to have A. be involve in more fine motor skill activities, like creative art
projects.!
!
!
One month ago, A. practiced soccer once a week. He did some soccer before too, he
also used to do some gymnastic. He is also currently going to swimming class. A.’s mother
said that recently A. stared to become more afraid of water. “He is not extremely afraid but he
wont go alone like before, he will ask us to come with him and stay with him.”17 Those
physical activities help A. develop gross motor skill. “[F]rom age 3 to 6, children learn to throw
a ball farther and more accurately, and they become better at catching a ball, too. They also
increase their running speed and their ability to stop suddenly or change direction.”18 That is
why while practicing soccer and swimming class A. builds his large muscles and increases his
gross motor skills.!
!
!
Discussion!
!
This interview with A.’s mother helped me to gather information about A. A.’s mother’s
experienced the average symptoms during her pregnancy, like nausea, fatigue, or
heartburn.19 A.’s birth was complicated because a few days before the delivery, A.’s mother
felt less movement, A.’s pulse was low, but the labor was not induced. For the delivery,
because A. was in distress, the gynecologist needed to use the vacuum for the extraction.

After the birth A. Apgar score was a 10 on 10 and he nursed right away. A. lives with his two
biological parents and his younger brother. His family culture is Hebrew, but they are not
religious. A. is an English as a Second Language learner. A.’s overall, reacted positively to his
little brother’s birth. Except for asking for a bottle, he did not show signs of regression and he
is proud of having little brother. The routines defined by the interviewee displayed structured
habits. A. eats at regular hours and has a variety of nutriments. His parents’ favor heathy
food. Outside of the preschool A. practices soccer and swimming. Those kind of activities
promote A.’s gross motor development. A.’s strengths are self expression and his ability to
comfort himself or to seek others for comfort when needed. The area that A.’s mother would
like him to work on is English and creative art activities.!
!
A.’s mother’s interview allowed me to collect precious information about A and his family.
A true partnership with the family is the foundation to promote appropriate practices in our
center. The family is the most important resource, that is why it is essential that childhood
caregivers and the families collaborate together. Interviewing the families is an opportunity to
connect with them.

Child’s Developmental Progress!
!
Your child’s strengths:!
He is good at expressing his feelings. He is able to communicate his needs, feelings, or
interests. A. also knows how to comfort himself or to seek others for comfort when needed.
He is curious, he likes to speak with familiar adults.!
!
Areas your child is currently working on include:!
English. I also would like him to do more active with fine motor skill, like art project.!
!
Is there anything else you would like tell about your child?!
He is an angel (smile).!
He can play by himself very well, and will withdraw when aggressive kids are around. I would
like him to grow self confident and feel capable, but mostly be happy and healthy. As he is
really “easy going”, I would very much like the school to help encourage his curiosity and
develop his interest and learning. Also to notice that he is not “ran by” other kids, as he is very
gentle (as we know him)!
I am a Mom. I hope I don’t sound to overprotective…
