Q1. How does risk impact testing? Why should risk be considered when testing?
Requirement: 150 – 200 Words
Deadline: 18 Hours
Q2. Why are incident reporting and metrics important to testing? What does this information help to communicate?
Requirement: 150 – 200 Words
Deadline: 12 Hours.
Q3. Defect/Incident Reporting Exercise:
1. Review the test findings from Week 8 based on testing the parking lot calculation application located at http://adam.goucher.ca/parkcalc/
2. Re-test the application if needed.
3. Formally document any defects or failures you found in an incident report. Include at least 5 defects in your incident report. At minimum, include the following information within your report for each defect or failure.
a. Defect summary
b. Incident description (expected results, actual results, what you entered, date/time)
c. Priority or severity
d. Steps followed to create/recreate issue
e. Include error descriptions/messages, if appropriate
f. Provide screen prints as needed
4. Calculate and report basic testing metrics to help provide a feel for the status of your testing efforts, health of the software being tested, and effectiveness of your testing efforts. At minimum, include:
a. Total Defects (overall measure of software quality)
b. Test case testing ratio (indication of testing status) ➜ Test cases tested / total test cases
c. Failure Rate ➜ #failures per unit of time (usually # failures per hour)
d. Defect Density (measure of software quality) ➜ total defects / # test cases completed
e. Critical Bug Detection Rate (measures testing effectiveness; testing resources should be focused on finding the highest risk defects) ➜ # high priority bugs / # total bugs * 100%Week 8 Assignment.docx
Deadline: 3 days.
Requirement: 2 – 3 Pages
Please Note that it’s Overall 3 – 4 pages work with 3 days deadline so $15 is the maximum I will pay. Don’t Bid more than that. I won’t assign the work to you.Running Head: Requirements driven vs Exploratory Testing Exercise

1. As a motorist, I want a good spacing between spots so that I can easily park well in the spot
and get out of my car.
This case has a prioritization of 5. This test condition is known as the user experience, for
example the ease of parking and space to get out of the car once he/she has parked. On the
same note the calculator is easy to use with good graphical user interface for good user
experience. The appropriate calculations of time and cost depending on the type of the
parking lot are appropriately tabled within the calculator.
2. As a motorist, I want a good signage and color-coding so that I can be able to tell easily
what floor and area I’m parking in and where I’m walking to my car.
This test case has a prioritization of 4 which means it is testing for the functions of the
application software in serving the motorist. The application displays good color in the
coding to make the user tell clearly the cost and as well input the required details.

3. As a motorist, I want a good display of numbers for open spots in large parking lots so that
I can take a short time to circle and get the space and to avoid unnecessary queuing.
This test condition is prioritized at number 3, because it checks for design flaws by
comparing the convenience with the initial design. And this means the application is bound
to stream line the ventures of the users.
The parking lot software application displays correctly the required information when valid
value for the day are entered together with a specification of the parking lot to use.
4. As a motorist, I want a good quality lighting and ventilation coupled with high profile
CCTV monitoring system so that my safety and the safety my car is enhanced.
The test condition is prioritized at number 2 because safety is the key considering in ever
sector in the world. Both the safety of the vehicle and the safety of the person the vehicle
are considerably important.

The application software is considerably secure and the security implementation is aligned
with the external security systems. Rectifications to security issues should be made
promptly
5. As a motorist, I want an easy parking spot with liberally dimensioned bays and ramps
which does not require high level of driving skills so that I can easily park without getting
confused.
This test condition is prioritized number 1 due to the existing laws to enhance parking for
the handicapped population and thus it checks for the convenience and ease of parking a
vehicle without advanced skills and with ease for the physically disabled.
The application software only calculates the cost of parking a vehicle in a particular parking
lot and not the directional routes of the parking lot pathways.

Black-box Tests:
1. Equivalence partitioning
This tests the application without the knowledge of the internal architecture of the
application. The application is tested for various rules like the input of a user name. If
the username is not in the rage of 6 to 10 characters an invalid username exception is
thrown. Also the username cannot contain numeric values or special characters and
even spaces.
Invalid inputs may include john, john1 and others while valid inputs include johnjon
and others
2. Decision table tests
This test is useful for testing combinations like the bonus on the 7th day of parking on
that parking lot. And in this case the parking lot is only economy. This is a combination
of two test conditions, parking for at least 7 days and then parking in the economy
parking lot.
3. State transition diagrams tests
This technique is particularly important for testing the availability of the parking lots.
It is also suitable for combinations
4. Boundary value analysis
In this case the data is divided into two parts, where one part is succeeds then the other
parts also pass. However if one part fails then the other part also fails
In my opinion the test cases are most effective because they give an opportunity to
prioritize the tests and by so doing improve on the accuracy of the tests.
