The Navy
The Navy is an arm of the military that patrols the world’s large water bodies such as
oceans. The aim of patrolling the oceans is to ensure the safety of countries bordering the oceans.
A strong Navy is always in a state of deployment. The deployment involves several ships, naval
aircraft squadron as well as submarines. All these are put in place for readiness to respond to any
attack from the enemy. So that one understands the Navy on a broader dimension, the mission
and vision of the Navy have to be a priority.
The first mission of the naval is to maintain the combat-ready naval force. Since a
country may not have information about the activities of enemies, it is always a good thing to
maintain the perfect state of the navy. The move aims at ensuring that in the case of any attack,
the nation can be able to repulse the effect. Training of personnel to join the Navy is another
mission of the Navy. The training of personnel to join the Navy ensures continuity of the armed
force. Replacement of retired personnel or those who have left the service is achieved through
the training of others. It is also essential in increasing the number of officers in the Navy hence
making it stronger just as it is known that there is strength in numbers. The final mission is to
equip the combat-ready naval force. Having the Navy force in place without giving it the power
to fight the enemy is of no use. Equipping the Navy ensures that they can fight back whenever
the country is under attack. It is also worth noting that equipping the Navy is done depending on
emerging technologies so that they can be efficient for today’s attacks. Concisely, the mission of
the Navy is geared towards maintaining peace and freedom of the oceans and seas, deterring
aggression towards land and winning wars (Mendelsohn, Smith & Weingart, 2013).

The vision of the Navy is to provide a safe world for maintaining peace and freedom in
the oceans. Several activities have to take place before the Navy can comfortably boast of having
brought peace around the world. Having an equipped naval force is another vision. With proper
planning, the Navy can have at its disposal all the necessary machinery to be able to combat any
enemy (Segal, & Burk, 2012).
The following is a chart of the commanding positions in the Navy from the highest to the
lowest ranks.
